Dear Readers,
Heathen Harvest has been growing and evolving now for seven full years and I have come to realize that it has reached its zenith. Following in the wake of Judas Kiss and Gothtronic I would like to inform the post industrial underground and our dedicated readers of the conclusion of Heathen Harvest webzine.
My reasons for choosing to close Heathen Harvest echo those of the Miguel (DJ TekNoir) and Lee Powell the owners of Gothtronic and Judas Kiss. After dedicating seven years to the post industrial community I find my time divided between Heathen Harvest and the other pursuits calling me in life. In addition the costs of funding Heathen Harvest have increased along with our success and the ever increasing number of submissions for review.
We have now reached our peak journalist capacity based on my available personal funds and the number of submissions far exceeds our staffs capabilities. I feel satisfied that the Heathen Harvest volunteer staff have given enough throughout our seven years and now its time to bow out and allow someone new and fresh to pick up the banner and lead the charge.
I would like to thank everyone who has volunteered their time and passion to Heathen Harvest for without you nothing would have been achieved. I would also like to thank everyone who volunteered as part of the administration staff. Each of these people provided a professional level of dedication which was the skeleton of Heathen Harvest.
I also extend the deepest gratitude to all the artists, bands and labels who participated by sending us review media. Reviews formed the heart of Heathen Harvest as we strived to introduce our readers to new and interesting music. So many people have invested their faith in us and it has been the nectar that has sustained us.
Unfortunately given the large backlog of review media that has presently been submitted we will not be able to honor every submission with a completed review. My current personal finances will not allow me to ship all of the releases abroad for review. This situation arose quickly and I hope those who do not receive a review will understand.
Any submissions now reaching us will likely not be reviewed as we wind down Heathen Harvest. If you choose to submit media of course I’ll continue to listen and will send personal comments via email if solicited.
As all of us who created and supported Heathen Harvest disband and move on with our lives I hope Heathen Harvest will remain a project we can reflect on with pride and honor.
The website will be maintained as an online archive indefinitely following the termination of new content. The Heathen Hideout Forum will continue to be functional indefinitely with no foreseeable change. The Heathen Harvest Myspace and Facebook pages will be maintained until such a time that no one wants to man them.
The Heathen Harvest staff emails will remain active until at which time each administer chooses to terminate their email. The PR dept. Will remain active and responding to inquiries until later this month (May 2010) at which time the department will be closed to enable Sage W. to move on.
There are too many people to thoroughly be thanked so please celebrate the with me as we watch the sun set on Heathen Harvest...
May the music play forever!
