Genre: Apcalyptic Folk
Alchemically aligned with the "blackening" stage nigredo {the burning away of all preconceptions} Luftwaffe's release Event Nihility beckons forth an eidetic conflagration.
"For purposes of this recording Luftwaffe is:j1 StatiK, b9 InViD, N2 IntitI, and Sasha Feline with guest artists."
"Xian" the introductory piece for this work utilizes a foreboding drone fast met by noises of radios tuning and an ominous sample repetitiously reciting the three words "a cultural hell" upon which a processed vocal proclamation is issued forth upon the condition of current human existence and the need for the correction of the human model.
"Jahada" utilizes nasheed vocal chanting and percussions which carry through the length of a piece proclaiming a struggle "not with kingdoms nor with thrones" yet with "avarice and greed" delivered with powerfully worked vocals from multiple members of the group.
"La Rabbia E L'Orgoglio" was a piece contributed for this work by Tairy Ait! Tairy is also known for his work as Today I'm Dead, and as well he is the founder of the astounding label which has brought us this and other great releases: Punch Productions! The piece begins with the bass and soon brings in strong percussions which hold a restrained structure, and are met with organ lines and Tairy's unique processed vocal recitations.
"Sic Semper Tyrannis" begins with strange vocal samples and utilizes ritual percussion and droning samples with the group's powerful vocals speaking of the falling of pillars from the oligarchs fists.
"Dogs" draws great musical strength through compelling string lines, martial percussion, and what sounds to be as well flute. The vocals for the piece speak of canine domination of this world which we inhabit and speak of an ascent towards heaven as well the inability of the powers of oppression to contain the spirit.
"Vindication Of Hate I" is musically makes for a change from the more martial elements which compose the beginning portion of the album with a transition to a more neo-folkish approach utilizing acoustic guitars, flute, tambourine, and sparkling piano-esque synth reminiscent of some of the works of D.I.J. The vocals speak of falsehoods of freedom and the fetish smell of corpse underlying structures of social control.
"Bled White" continues in a similar vein to the preceding piece and utilizes the haunting introductory quote of mass murderer Carl Panzram "If only the world had just one neck.." but delivers it in a contagious manner set to the pleasant strumming of acoustic guitar with simple percussive accompaniment and continues on to say for this verse "If only the sun would swell and turn black , if only the skies would come crashing down, non- time is advent, et nihil est.."
"The Indictment Of Birth" carries on this Neoist Volkish approach and delivers sharp vocals on the tiresome recitations of an unceasingly tedious drama based upon odious philosophies, and is a calling for an ending to this the path in which we are losing and "better off dead".
"Patriarch Militant" is cited as "a song for Douglas.. While he lives." And is giving of thanks to for the powerfully inspiring influence of this progenitor to much of the apocalyptic folk scene.
"Satan And The Sun V.2" utilizes acoustic guitars and the vocals of Sasha Feline as well as more of the restrained martial percussions and speaks of "how Satan loves his sin."
"At The 9th Hour" utilises strangely processed banjo, accordion, and traditional percussion in a Celtic sounding tune and speaks of the "shining of darkness" and the call to "cry out! at the 9th hour".
"Where Lies The Land?" is based upon a traditional vocal tune and arrangement by Valence featuring hauntingly sad sounding male and female vocals, acoustic guitar, flute, and tom tom based percussion.
"The Scent Of The Vanquished" features Boyd Rice on vocals and Douglas P. on guitar. The piece carries on the tradition well established by these men who have undeniably borne tremendous influence upon the visions of many followers of their darkened occult folk. Boyd issues the command to "fetch the rope" during times of tumult "when day is night and up is down" {a quote bearing striking resemblance to the statement in Frantz Fanon's Wretched of the Earth "the last shall become first and the first shall become last"} The vocals continue forth and pay homage to the sorrowful lynching based piece which was censored in it's time "Strange Fruit" by Billy Holiday.
"Vindication Of Hate II" continues upon the theme earlier in this album this time adding haunting vocal chants by Sasha Feline and issues curses upon the cross of Christendom with it's houses built upon corpses of genocide and the worship of a god which is not real. The piece was written and performed by Gnomonclast and was the piece which follows "Florida" which speaks of a cross smeared with oil, gold stained with blood, an earth turned black, a growing darkness of horror, and call for this to be the end.
"The Sun" begins with the statement "When our tenure here has ended: this world will be as inhabitable as the sun" What follows is more acoustic guitar strumming, restrained percussion, and words speaking of armored homes exposed by a light which reveals the poverty of greed.
For "Fin De Ciecle" the music was composed by DaSid Oakspawn which utilizes uniquely processed orchestral string samples and twitching cold synthesizer tones delivered in a beautiful and drawn out manner with vocals speaking of the dead inheriting the living.
The lyrics for "Crimson on the Green" are from an Irish traditional tale of 1697 with mention of murder and public revenge for atrocities perpetrated.. the piece notable for it's digital format features the distinctive popping skips of the vinyl format which lends to a sensation of an earlier aged method for delivery of media.
Punch Productions have yet again released another astoundingly qualitative document! This release is housed in a black digipack with silver embossed Luftwaffe logo.
